DESCRIPTION:It is time to do some more trail maintenance at the MOWC.  Here is what needs to be done: \n\n\n\n  -improve the drainage some more.  Install culverts\, put fill on the trails where it gets wet to raise the trail\, and dig some side drainage \n\n\n\n  -make a new trail connector between the upper and side fields \n\n\n\n -widen and improve the old snowmobile trail going into the field.  Make it safe and skiable. \n\n\n\nHope you can join us. This category is our storytelling portion of the event – you can submit stories publically on social media or privately by emailing or messaging us on Instagram. Tell us a story about Roy\, it can be a situation that occurred or something that reminded you of him. SUMMARY:5KM Trail Run
DESCRIPTION:Join the local community at The MOWC for this annual Fun Run. The run will be on July 15th at 4PM. We will meet at The MOWC main building and leave sharply at 4PM. This pet-friendly event is open to all ages. The trail makes a loop and goes through the woods so if you want to bring a stroller it is probably best if it has large wheels like a jogging stroller. \n\n\n\nJoin us after the run for our annual fundraiser event with live music\, lawn games\, and snacks.

SUMMARY:Fall Fiddlers Contra Dance
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening of traditional live music and contra dancing featuring musicians – Greg Boardman\, Jessie Boardman\, and Chris Robley – who are widely recognized for their musicianship\, knowledge\, and creativity. \n\n\n\nThe evening will begin with a concert and light refreshments provided by Nezinscot Farm Store\, followed by an hour of lively contra dancing. This joyful musical celebration will appeal to an audience of all ages. Greg Boardman will lead the audience in a traditional New England contra dance\, an activity that is widely popular today. No previous dance experience is required. \n\n\n\nProceeds from the evening will go to support the Maine Outdoor Wellness Center nonprofit and help bring additional programming and events to the Turner community. \n\n\n\nThe Musicians  \n\n\n\nJessie and Greg Boardman are longtime fiddlers and teachers in our area of Maine–Jessie teaching privately in her Suzuki-centered studio and Greg in the Lewiston Public Schools. They also teach at Maine Fiddle Camp\, which Greg co-founded\, and at the Sandy Island Suzuki Camp. As performers\, they are frequent players at dances\, concerts\, fairs\, and festivals around the state. \n\n\n\nChris Robley is a singer-songwriter and award-winning poet who’s made his home in the mill town of Lewiston\, Maine. His orchestral indie-pop and folk music has been praised by The LA Times\, The Boston Globe\, NPR’s Second Stage\, Performer\, and others. Skyscraper Magazine said he is “one of the best short-story musicians to come along in quite some time.” Robley’s poetry has been published in POETRY Magazine\, Prairie Schooner\, Poetry Northwest\, Beloit Poetry\, and more. He is the winner of Boulevard’s Poetry Prize for Emerging Writers\, a recipient of a Maine Literary Award in poetry\, and was selected by Robert Pinsky as a finalist for the Dorset Prize.
